Final Fantasy XIV: How to unlock Wivre mount

Square Enix's recent update, Endwalker, adds a slew of new features to Final Fantasy XIV, and fans of the game are in for a treat. Mounts are always one of the most eagerly anticipated new features in Final Fantasy XIV, and this expansion is no exception. The Wivre, however, is the most valuable of all the newly released horses. It's shaped like a rhinoceros, and it's surrounded by barding and adventure gear. It's an "ill-mannered scalekin difficult to control" from the New World, according to the game.

How to unlock Wivre mount in Final Fantasy XIV

The Wivre Horn can be purchased from Edelina in Mor Dhona for 500 Bicolor Gemstone Vouchers at X: 22.2, Y: 4.9. It's highly costly because each voucher is worth 100 Bicolor Gemstones, requiring 50,000 Gemstones to obtain the mount.

Completing FATEs on the Shadowbringers and Endwalker maps earns you gemstones (14 per successful FATE, seven if it failed). That means you'll need 3,571 successful FATEs to obtain enough vouchers for the mount, and each one will take between one and ten minutes to complete.

Furthermore, the Vouchers will not be available immediately. To unlock the Vouchers, you must reach Shared FATEs rank three on all of Shadowbringers' or Endwalker's maps.

There are six maps in each expansion, and to reach rank three, you must complete 67 FATEs with a gold medal, totaling 402 FATEs. So, except from the 1,000 you can hold, any of your Bicolor Gemstones obtained before that will not contribute toward its advancement.

Fortunately, the Wivre Horn and Bicolor Gemstone Vouchers can be purchased on the Market Board for players who are keen to obtain this mount. To obtain the mount, you'll need to commit a significant amount of time or money.

Because the mount is new, the Bicolor Gemstone Vouchers are currently expensive (over one million Gil per voucher, or 500 million Gil for the mount, depending on the server). However, the price should drop over time, until the next expansion, which isn't due for another two years.
