Final Fantasy XIV: How to transfer to a new data center
Players in the region are eager to transfer their characters to the new Final Fantasy XIV Oceania Data Center, which has just gone live. Even if you aren't in the OCE, you might want to transfer your character to a new data center with better ping or more friends, or you might have been waiting to do so. If that's the case, here's how to move a character between FFXIV worlds.
It's worth noting that transferring a character usually comes at a price. Transfers to the new Oceania Data Center, on the other hand, are free for a limited period.
How to transfer a current character to a new FFXIV data center
You'll need to use a webpage to transfer a character from one data center to another. First, double-check that your subscription is still active. You won't be able to get far in the transfer procedure if you don't have a current subscription.
Step 1. Mog Station
You must first travel to the FFXIV Mog Station. There are numerous services offered at the Mog Station. You can also use this page to update, modify, or renew your current subscription. Login to the Mog Station website by clicking here.
Step 2. Home World Transfer
Click "Home World Transfer" under "Additional Services" in the left-hand pane once you've logged into the FFXIV Mog Station. The Home World Transfer Service will be activated as a result of this action. On the screen, there will be some service information as well as some terms and conditions. Read them through, then click "Accept the terms of the Home World Transfer Service" and "Next" when you're ready.
"This service cannot be used within three days of your last Home World Transfer," says an error message if you've recently relocated a character. You must wait three days before returning to this stage.
Step 3. Destination Home World Selection
You'll be led to a screen where you can choose your new world after selecting "Next" in the previous stage. Choose the name of the new World you wish your character to appear on from the drop-down menu. Material is the name of the new Oceania Data Center, and Bismarck, Ravana, Sephirot, Sophia, and Zurvan are the new Worlds available on the server.
To choose an acceptable Destination World, make sure you've already visited it from the lobby. To do so, open the Final Fantasy XIV launcher, make sure you're on the newest version, and then click "Play." On the menu screen, instead of pressing "Start," select "Data Center." Select the Data Center where you want your new character to appear, then click "Proceed" to proceed to that location. The FFXIV Mog Station will now detect that you've logged into the Data Center and that it's an eligible World for your character/s, even if you have 0/8 characters. To proceed to the next step, exit the game.
