Fortnite Chapter 3: How to get the Madcap skin

Madcap may look familiar to those who have played Chapter 2 Season 8 of Fortnite. This is owing to the character being a former NPC that could be found in Corny Crops and for whom missions could be completed. However, now that that area has vanished, it appears that the bright talking mushroom is now a playable character since he has been transformed into a skin that can only be purchased through the Item Shop.

The Epic-rare Madcap skin debuted in the shop for 24 hours on January 13, 2022, for 1,500 V-Bucks. Buyers will also receive his Epic Bello Bag Back Bling for free, despite his price is more than other costumes. Even better, the character comes with an additional costume variation, allowing Madcap's famous mushroom top to glow blue.

Despite only being on the market for a day, Madcap and his Fungus King cosmetic set are expected to return to the Item Shop at least once more in 2022. In the meantime, everybody who participated in the battle royale during the Winterfest 2021 event may now log in to receive the Rare Crescent Shroom Harvesting Tool, the first item in Madcap's set, for free.
