Windtrace, one of the most popular events in the history of Genshin Impact, is finally returning in version 2.4. The community is ecstatic to participate as Hunters and Rebels and receive prizes as a result. Thanks to all of the new content that has come since patch 1.5, the Windtrace rerun event in version 2.4 is shaping out to be considerably better than the original.

Genshin Impact 2.4 Windtrace event release date and rewards

On January 13, 2022, the Windtrace event will begin, and players will be able to win Windtrace coins for the next two weeks. On January 27, 2022, the event will come to a conclusion. Players earn Windtrace coins not just when they win a game as a Hunter/Rebel, but also when they fulfill activities like gaining 'Favors.'

Windtrace coins can be exchanged for Primogems, Weapon Enhancement Material, Hero's Wit, and Mora in the future. During patch 1.5, travellers could get a total of 420 Primogems for 4,200 Windtrace coins, and this quantity is likely to remain the same in the forthcoming repeat.

It's worth mentioning that to participate in Windtrace, players must have an Adventure Rank of 20 or higher, as they'll be expected to unlock certain 'Contested Zones' scattered around Teyvat's three nations.

Genshin Impact 2.4 Windtrace event gameplay explained

The participants in the Windtrace event will be separated into two groups: 'Hunters' and 'Rebels.' As the names suggest, the Rebels must flee and the Hunters must catch them in a short period of time. The Rebels possessed the following skills in the original Windtrace event in 1.5:
  • Lay Bait - Distract the Hunter by placing baits.
  • Transparency - Go into a momentary hidden mode that prevents the Hunter from seeing you.
  • Disguise - Change into one of the specialized objects in the area at random.
  • Starstep - For 30 seconds, increased movement speed.
Characters like Mona and Ayaka, for example, make excellent Rebels since they can briefly vanish with their dashes.

Hunters, on the other hand, used to be able to do the following:
  • Sensor Aura - Get alerted if a Rebel is close.
  • Mysterious Hunch - Indicate where Rebels can be found in a brief manner.
  • Capture - Removes a nearby Rebel's disguise and captures them.
  • Imprisoning Curse - Removes a nearby Rebel's disguise and limits their powers for a period of time.
  • Insight - Highlights all Rebels with a blue pillar of light for 20 seconds on the map. The light pillar follows the player.
  • Hunter's Intitution - Highlights one Rebel on the map for 60 seconds with a blue pillar of light. The light pillar follows the player.
Five contested zones were spread between Mondstadt, Liyue, and Dragonspine in the original event. There's a good chance that the Windtrace rerun in 2.4 will also contain some new Inazuma zones.

Furthermore, the Rebels may be able to transform into new things, and the Hunters may have new skills to employ against them. Overall, the Windtrace rerun event in Genshin Impact 2.4 will very certainly be a huge success. This will be followed by even more significant events, such as a replay of the Lantern Rite.
