Pokemon GO: How to Catch Helioptile and Heliolisk

In Pokemon Go, Helioptile and Heliolisk have made their debut. This Electric-type Pokemon isn't only adorable; it's also a valuable complement to any squad. In Pokemon Go, here's everything you need to know about Helioptile and Heliolisk.

Helioptile's spawn rate has been raised because we are in the middle of the Power Plant event, making it easier to catch. The event will finish on February 1st, so go out and catch a Helioptile while they're still plentiful because Helioptiles will become scarce after that. Check out our other Pokemon Go tutorials for more information on how to succeed in your quest.

How to Catch Helioptile in Pokemon Go

To catch Helioptile, you must first locate one. In this case, there are two options. The first method involves tracking down Helioptile in the wild. They will spawn more frequently during the Power Plant event, to reinforce.

If you're having problems discovering Helioptile in the wild, Field Research Tasks are your next best option. The "Walk 1 KM" Field Research is the easiest to complete and will provide you with direct interaction with a Helioptile. Continue rotating Poke Stops to complete the challenge.

How to Catch Heliolisk in Pokemon Go

You will not be able to catch a Heliolisk at this time. The only way to get one is to evolve your Helioptile, so find and capture one as soon as possible. You'll need 50 Candy and a Sun Stone to evolve your Helioptile into a Heliolisk. While Candy is very easy to obtain, obtaining a Sun Stone might be challenging. It has a very low drop rate, but rotating Poke Stops and Gyms repeatedly is the only way to get one. On one of them, you'll strike it rich.

Can Helioptile Be Shiny?

Helioptile can't be shiny in Pokemon Go right now. Niantic rarely releases a new Pokemon in the wild with its Shiny variant. Based on the timing of other Shinies' appearances, it's safe to assume that Shiny Helioptile will take years to debut, so you'll have to make do with your regular Helioptile for the time being.

On the plus side, aside from Helioptile and Heliolisk, there is plenty of other Pokemon in the Power Plant event worth capturing. The following are some of the Pokemon on the show with a higher drop rate for this event:
  • Pikachu
  • Grimer
  • Voltorb
  • Electrode
  • Electabuzz
  • Jolteon
  • Porygon
  • Trubbish
  • Helioptile
