How to get Hoopa Confined in Pokemon Go

Trainers have only been able to obtain Hoopa in Pokemon Go by completing the first three steps of the Misunderstood Mischief Special Research, which was part of the Season of Mischief in 2021. There's no way to access Hoopa right now if you missed out on claiming the Special Research tale. Hoopa is temporarily unavailable unless Niantic brings it back for a future event.

How to get Hoopa Unbound in Pokemon Go

By purchasing 50 Candy and 10,000 Stardust, you can transform your Hoopa Confined into its Hoopa Unbound form. This operates in the same way that evolution does: tap on Hoopa and pick 'Change Form.'

You can also reverse this form shift by spending 10 Candy and 2,000 Stardust, which is a sixth of the original cost, to turn Hoopa Unbound back into Hoopa Confined.

You must first catch a Hoopa Confined in the Misunderstood Mischief Special Research narrative and then complete the second job in the new Mischief Unbound Special Research story before you can accomplish anything else.

What’s the difference between Hoopa Confined and Hoopa Unbound?

Hoopa Confined and Hoopa Unbound differ mostly in their typing: Hoopa's Confined form is Psychic/Ghost, while its Unbound form is Psychic/Dark, changing its resistances and vulnerabilities. Hoopa Unbound's stats will be distinct from those of its Confined cousin. A comparison of their respective stats may be found below:

The only stat that hasn't changed is its Stamina, which is still at a low 173. This is important to remember because both versions of Hoopa are considered glass cannons in battle.

What are form changes in Pokemon Go?

Pokemon Go received form adjustments during the 2021 Fashion Week event. Furfrou, the first Pokemon capable of changing forms, has a variety of visual shapes such as the Star Trim and the Dandy Trim.

Changing forms is similar to evolution in that you must spend a certain amount of Candy and Stardust to do so. The key distinction is that you can change forms at any time, whereas evolutions are permanent once they occur.
