Sea Of Thieves: How To Create Custom Treasure Maps
Players of Sea of Thieves are undoubtedly accustomed to searching for a range of goodies strewn across the game's globe. This first-person action-adventure game has a wide sea with several islands for players to explore in search of these jewels. However, the most recent update to Sea of Thieves has given a new feature for players to try out: burying their own riches.
Players can now design their own personalized treasure maps for others to find and finish using the game's new Quest Board. This guide can assist players who want to make use of the Quest Board and construct their own Custom Maps as part of the Sea of Thieves update.
How to Create a Custom Treasure Map
In Sea of Thieves, players must first get some type of treasure before they may create a Custom Treasure Map. This includes both the skulls found in the game and the Gold Hoarder chests. Players who already have these on their ships or come across them in the Sea of Thieves environment can start making their own personalized treasure map right away.
Players can bury their riches on nearly any island they like, but they must first clear off any adversaries before doing so. Place the piece of treasure where it should be buried once you've arrived safely onshore. Then, from the item radial menu, equip the shovel and face the treasure.
When you face the treasure, two prompts will appear on the screen: one to bury the wealth and one to pick it up. Burying is done with the Left Trigger for controller gamers, and completely hiding the treasure will take no more than three pulls. A personalized treasure map will display in the player's quest radial menu once the burial is completed. This will indicate the location of the treasure as well as the name of the island.
How to Share a Custom Treasure Map
Now that a player has the map, they must travel to any of the game's outposts, which are renowned for housing the Sea of Thieves and Black Market factions. Players can find the Quest Board on the pier where their ship spawns when they enter the globe at each of these outposts.
When players engage with the Quest Board, they will be given two options: Quest Board or My Maps. Players can publish their new map to the Quest Board by selecting My Maps from the drop-down menu. As a result, this map will be added to the public board, allowing other players to take it and gain the hidden treasure as part of Sea of Thieves Season 5. If they do, the person who designed the map will also receive bonuses.
