Windjammers 2: How to use charged shots

Learning how to play Windjammers 2 entails not only learning the basic principles but also mastering advanced strategies. You'll want to use charged bullets as much as possible once you've mastered the fundamental moves. These add additional twists to all of your usual throws, so knowing how to do them all is crucial. Here's how to do it.

Charging. To begin, you'll need to be charged - as the name says, every charged shot requires this. When the disc is knocked into the air with a lob or drop shot, you must stand on the marker to charge. When your character starts glowing with red energy instead of the blue hue you'd get from the power gauge at the bottom of the screen, you're fully charged.

Super custom shot. When you toss a conventional throw, you can use your Power Disc shot without having to use the full power gauge. Your ultimate throw won't be as showy as usual, but it will still travel ahead in the same path.

Super lob & roll smash. These are grouped together because they provide the same consequence. The charged lob is similar to a regular lob, only it sails over the net like a tomahawk throw, sticks in the ground like a spinning wheel, and then zips straight for the goal. A roll smash is similar to a smash shot, but unlike the super lob, it spins into the ground before advancing toward the goal. Both are capable of tripping up your opponent, as they appear to be a missed disc until they beam toward the goal for extra points.

Shot with extreme spin. When you're completely charged, use the same input as for a curved shot to perform this technique. It spirals wildly toward the goal, similar to L. Biaggi's Power Disc shot but more difficult. In the middle of a volley, this is a terrific strategy to throw your opponent off.

Reversal. This is possibly the coolest maneuver in the entire game of Windjammers 2, and it applies to all Power Disc shots. You must first be fully charged. The second step is for your opponent to aim their Power Disc towards you. Third, you must catch the throw successfully. If that happens, input a straight or curved shot, and your opponent's Power Disc shot will be sent right back at them. That'll do it!
