Destiny 2 The Witch Queen: What are the new max light level caps - Soft cap, Power cap, Hard cap
The annual boost in possible power level occurs with the release of Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. In Destiny 2, your Guardian's power level determines your access to a range of missions, objectives, and end-game stuff. Instead of increasing power caps with each season of Destiny, Bungie has relocated them to each expansion release, making it significantly easier for players to level up and prepare for months of content.
New Power level caps
- Floor: 1,350 (up from 1,100)
- Soft Cap: 1,500 (up from 1,270)
- Powerful Cap: 1,550 (up from 1,320)
- Hard Cap: 1,560 (up from 1,330)
The Witch Queen expansion will begin with all guardians at level 1,350. This means that regardless of your previous power level, you will now be upgraded to the 1,350 power floor. You'll want to power up to the soft cap of 1,500 from here.
This is one of the simpler things to perform in Destiny 2 because every drop you get below the soft cap will be greater than the last. Keep these objects in your inventory rather than dismantling them until you receive a more powerful item.
Following the soft cap, your next objective will be to reach the powerful cap of 1,550. Completing Tier 1, 2, and 3 challenges scattered throughout the solar system will let you achieve this. Decrypting Prime engrams at Master Rahool will also provide you with amazing equipment.
Keep in mind that prime engrams will always include a piece of gear that is better than what you presently have, so don't keep them. Finally, there is a 1,560 hard cap. Only through completing pinnacle activities such as raids, weekly assignments, and dungeons can you earn this.
However, once you've reached the hard cap of 1,560, you can continue to receive power from your artifact. While this talent isn't really useful, it will aid you in unlocking artifact mods and demonstrating your prowess in the Destiny 2 environment.
