Dying Light 2 Zelda Weapon: How to Get Mistress Sword
In Dying Light 2, you can paraglide, grapple around The City like Spiderman, and pay homage to many different franchises. The game is full of Easter eggs, from the actual meaning of life to secret weapons from other series. The weapon “The Mistress Sword” appears to be a direct homage to Master Sword, albeit with some distinct outcomes. This tutorial will tell you how to obtain this fabled bit of steel, or potentially plastic, and what benefits it may provide.
Does it live up to the legend?
The first thing you should do is finish the mission “Broadcast”, which takes place roughly 2/3 of the way through The City's plot. Then you can find 5 black ducks concealed across the game map after completing this quest. With flashing crimson eyes and dark black “feathers”, these small fellows can be hard to find.
The Wharf District, Lower Dam Ayre, VNC Tower, Mount Lucid Observatory, and Houndsfield have black ducks. To find the Black Duck in The Wharf District, look for a submerged police car on the northern side. You can swim to it, but it's much more fun to parkour to it in the Revenant Fight Arena and climb to the top of the north wall.
The Lower Dam Ayre Black Duck is on the bay's pier, or should I say, on a skull. But it's surrounded by chemical waste. Paragliding is recommended if you have the chance, as you won't get stuck in the awful chemical muck. But if you're good at parkour, you can jump over there.
The VNC Tower's Black Duck can only be obtained from the VNC Tower's rooftop. This building also houses the Altar Chamber, where you'll go once you've collected all of your ducks. From the tower's lobby, take an elevator to the rooftop. Go to the blue perch, jump off, and grab the Grappling hook. You'll enter a chamber with a safe through an open window. It's time for your nasty Black Duck.
The black duck is waiting for you within the Mount Lucid Observatory's Watchtower, like Rapunzel. Go to the right side of the main entrance and use your grappling hook to climb up. You don't have to wait for this Duck to let his hair down once you reach the summit.
The last duck you'll need is in Houndsfield, and it's not for the reasons you think. The duck is in a very toxic environment, but it is easily accessible. The location it's in will quickly reduce your immunity, but once inside, you'll be free to grab your duck and get it out.
After collecting all of the Black Ducks, return to the VNC Tower to find the Altar Chamber. In the E1M1 Combat Challenge, you'll use a double-barreled shotgun with infinite ammo to blast your way through hordes of foes. You'll also uncover two unique blueprints, one for a Star Wars-inspired weapon and one for the Mistress Blade. You've finished your quest with 369 scraps!
While the Mistress Blade looks nice, it does ZERO harm. So, if you're a completist, you should try to get this rare weapon. Unlocking the full power of the blade may be a secret, but it's still simply a cool-looking sword.
