Elden Ring: How to beat the Demi-Human Chief in the Coastal Cave

The Demi-Human Chief is actually two bosses who must be fought at the same time. This pair of rogue monsters can be discovered off to the side of the map in the Coastal Cave. Before entering the arena, make sure you're ready to fight. You'll be dealing with not only the bosses but also their friends. In Elden Ring, this is how you defeat the Demi-Human Chief.

Where can I locate Demi-Human Commander?

In the Coastal Cave, you'll find the Demi-Human Chief. This cave connects Limgrave to the little island off the southwest coast where the Dragon Communion Altar can be found. You'll need to drive somewhat north of the marker on the map above to get here. The beach is accessible through a sloping path. The cave can then be found by following the coastline.

Demi-Human Chief attacks

The Demi-Human Chiefs have a limited number of attacks. They have a jump attack as their first attack. When you get a little distance from them, this will happen to help close the gap. They will leap into the air and flail their arms during this attack. A vertical stab is the second strike. One of the chiefs will take a few steps forward before swinging both blades down in a downward motion.

A scream and a spin assault are the chiefs' other two attacks. While the scream is harmless, they will almost always follow it up with a combination, so be on the lookout. They whirl in circles twice before stopping with the spin attack.

How to defeat the Demi-Human Chief

Focus on the tiny fries when you first enter the fight. They're simple to remove, but they'll become an issue if you leave them in place because they can easily get in the way of rolling. They'll usually be knocked out in two or three hits. One of the chiefs will appear first, followed by the second. The second enters from the opposite side of the room. Try to inflict as much damage as possible on the first one before the second one arrives.

The fact that this boss can be staggered is one of its best features. With melee assaults, both chiefs can be easily knocked around. Continue to pursue them and don't give up. Remember to conserve your stamina so you don't be caught in a deadly combo. They are incredibly resistant to magic, and you can easily defeat them before your FP runs out. You also get the advantage of ranged assaults.

If you're fighting them with a melee character, make sure to strike at every opportunity. Because they can both be easily staggered, strike them as soon as a combo stops and you should be able to stun lock them for a few seconds. You should be able to defeat the first one without drawing the notice of the second one if you keep it close to the fog wall.
