Lost Ark Fishing Guide: How to Get a Pole, and Catch Fish

Lost Ark is an MMOARPG set in the magical continent of Arkesia, developed by Smilegate RPG and published in English-speaking areas by Amazon Game Studios. Players must search for keys and clues that will take them to the titular Ark, all while battling bad people who wish to destroy the world. There are other side activities to participate in, and you can spend your free time mining or fishing if you so desire. This is how fishing works in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Lost Ark Fishing Guide

First and foremost, fishing is one of the life skills you can improve in Lost Ark, but you won't be able to do so until you reach the Lake bar zone. Don't worry if you miss the major plot quest, which will lead you to Lake bar when you're in your mid-20s in terms of levels.

After you've arrived in Lake bar and completed the story objectives there, you can buy tools from the seller and begin using them to improve your life skills. A fishing pole can be purchased from a seller in town, allowing you to begin fishing for cooking materials.

How to Use a Fishing Pole

After you've purchased a fishing pole, access your inventory with the I key, then right-click the pole to equip it. It's worth noting that you can only do this after you've achieved life skills; it won't be available until then.

Next, find a fishing spot, which is shown on your map by small fish icons. When you're standing near a body of water, hit the B key to access your tools, then click on your line to cast it into the water.

You'll see a fish bite on the line after a few seconds, and after the bob goes beneath the surface of the water, right-click to reel it in. That's everything there is to it. Fishing in Lost Ark is primarily used to acquire cooking ingredients, which can then be utilized to construct food items that provide stat boosts and buffs when ingested.

Lost Ark Fishing Skills

You'll unlock new skills as your fishing level rises in Lost Ark, which will help keep the mini-game interesting and allow you to catch a greater variety of aquatic species. The following are the abilities:
  • Level 1: Pole Fishing
  • Level 10: Throw Bait
  • Level 20: Catch Fishing
  • Level 30: Net Fishing
