Lost Ark: How to fix the Cannot Create Character error

When you have too much of a good thing, it might cause everything to come to a standstill. That is exactly what is occurring to players that wish to play Lost Ark. Like any game with this level of popularity, it had its fair share of server capacity issues when it first launched. Many players, though, are encountering a disappointing error even before they can create a character.

Due to the popularity of Lost Ark, the game's developer, Smilegate, has set a limit on the number of characters that can be played on each server. In Lost Ark, some servers have become more popular than others, notably those where popular streamers have set up shop. As a result, many players are seeing an error message that says "Cannot Create Character" when they try to create a character.

What can gamers do if they run into this problem? Unfortunately, there isn't much. When a server's character limit is reached, players will be unable to create new characters on that server. That's all there is to it. This problem has just two known solutions.

There is an option to test a different server for players who want to play right away. It should be as simple as trying to find a server with a capacity if their region has numerous servers in place. However, it's worth noting that there's no way to migrate characters from one server to another once they've been created, so this might not be the best solution for everyone.

The alternative is to just wait. If the prospect of leveling up a character just to lose them when capacity is added to the server your friends are playing on doesn't appeal to you, then you'll have to wait. The good news is that Lost Ark's developers have been adding servers since launch, including the Central EU region to assist ease the demand on existing servers, so perhaps this is only a temporary issue that will go away once the initial rush to play dies down.
