Pokemon Legends Arceus: How to complete Big Buizel, Little Buizel request

"Big Buizel, Little Buizel" is one of the most vexing requests in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, owing to how simple it appears but how time-consuming it can be. It doesn't help that it's one of the game's very first requests.

Dorian, a red-robed guardsman, requests a Buizel who is taller than he is. It's complicated by the fact that he doesn't specify how tall his Buizel is. Furthermore, it's tough to spot a big one at first glance. To complete the "Big Buizel, Little Buizel" request, follow the steps below.

Where to find Big Buizel, Little Buizel request

Dorian, like many of the game's default NPCs, wears a red samurai-style robe and a straw helmet. He should be standing next to his mate, Buizel, just outside of Jubilife Village. It's the gate that leads to the lake, not the main entrance that leads to the many excursion areas.

The quest "Big Buizel, Little Buizel" should arrive early in the game, shortly after you pass the Survey Corps test. Simply look above Dorian's head for the small mission marker.

What is a Big Buizel?

Some people mistakenly believe that "large Buizel" means "alpha Buizel," however this is not the case. Alphas are the game's most powerful Pokemon. Big simply means larger than Dorian's Buizel, or at the very least taller.

In its overview, each Pokémon has a different height and weight. Having said that, recognizing a "large" Buizel when you see one is inconvenient. If you don't have a small Buizel to compare it to, what appears to be an average-sized Buizel could actually be larger than typical. So simply keep collecting Buizel until you get one that stands at least 2'8" tall. On the first page of a Pokemon's summary, you may see their height and weight.

Where to find Buizel

In Obsidian Lands, Buizel can be found along rivers. These tenacious water weasels attack on sight! They may be found in the initial sector of the map, just before the bridge (and before your first star), as well as on the other side of the bridge. If you're searching across the bridge, don't interact with the alpha Floatzel in the map's extreme north unless you're prepared.

I'm still looking for Big Buizel...

Despite capturing enough Buizels to fill an entire pasture, some unhappy folks have yet to discover one tall enough to submit for the mission. So, what's a person to do if giant Buizel continues to elude them?

After hours of infernal grinding, one Redditor stated that a 2'7" Buizel worked for them, however, it's unclear what caused the game to accept this over a 2'8" one. The prevailing theory is that the game hides a metric value in the localization that Imperial measurement countries can't see.

If you can't find a 2'8" Buizel, try sending 2'7" tall Buizels instead. It's back to the fields if none of them work.

Players could also wait until after the Kleavor boss fight, as previously stated. After defeating the first Noble Pokemon, Alpha Pokemon, including Buizels, have a greater probability of spawning. This makes sense, given that I later caught an alpha Bidoof and an alpha Buizel.
