Sea of Thieves: How to complete the Shrouded Islands Adventure

It's time to go on an adventure and set sail to the Shrouded Islands in the Sea of Thieves, you scallywag. Players will investigate why a mysterious fog has descended upon the Golden Sands on this excursion. There will undoubtedly be swashbuckling, treasure hunting, and a lack of direction, but that's why we're here to help gamers get their sea legs back on and navigate the Shrouded Islands in the Sea of Thieves.

1. Start your adventure

Take the quest from Larinna in any of the Outpost Taverns to begin your sea fairing trip towards the Shrouded Islands. Following your acceptance of the quest, you and your companions should travel to the Golden Sands Outpost, which has been engulfed by an ominous fog.

2. Get the Shrouded Compass on Golden Sands Island

You and your crew will need to pass through an abandoned outpost and head to The Captain's Head Tavern after dropping anchor and disembarking at Golden Sands Outpost. The Shrouded Compass sits to your right inside the tavern, and it will direct you to the Crescent Isle, so be ready to set sail once more.

3. Get the Soulflame from Belle on Crescent Isle

Following your arrival on Crescent Isle, you'll need to travel to Belle for lore and green firer. After you and your crew have lit your torches ablaze with the Soulflame, Belle will lead you toward Shipwreck Bay after she has finished regaling you and your crew with tales of her time wandering the Sea of the Damned.

4. Light the lanterns at Shipwreck Bay

When you see the ghost ship shimmering among the rocks and wreckage, you've arrived at Shipwreck Bay. A sequence of ghostly beings will guide you to eight successive lanterns to light with the Soulflame when you paddleboat to the beach. A group of green pirate phantoms will perform a short skit once each lantern is lit, explaining why the veil has settled over the sea.

5. Fight the pirate phantoms and the Soulflame Captain

You and your crew will next proceed to ignite the hanging cage, which will generate two cannons, some exploding barrels, and a few waves of ghost pirates once all eight lanterns have been lit. Pick up any runes that the ghost pirates drop because you'll need them later to transform into Belle. After you've defeated enough ghostly pirates, the Soulflame Captain will appear for you and your crew to battle until he dies, leaving behind a map.

6. Find the Hexing Skull and collect it.

The Soulflame captain's map directs you to the Hexing Skull dig. After that, set sail and use the map to locate the Skull. Before sailing sail again to the Crescent Isle aboard the Hexing Skull, you and your crew will face off against a few more ghost pirates. Return to the Isle and transform the Hexing Skull into Belle to finish your quest.
