Elden Ring: Flightless Bird Painting Solution

In Elden Ring, players can learn a variety of unique and powerful incantations. Some are quite easy to locate or purchase from NPCs, while others are buried within secret locations or behind obstacles. Fire's Deadly Sin, a powerful flame-based incantation found through a painting deep beneath Leyendell, Royal Capital is one of the best examples of the latter.

The zone is only accessible by slaying a Magma Wyrm in the Ruin Strewn Precipice or piecing together the Dectus Medallion to ride the Grand Lift of Dectus, therefore those who have yet to unlock the Royal Capital will have to spend some time moving through the game. Those who have traveled to Leyendell and wish to obtain the strong Fire's Deadly Sin incantation in Elden Ring can do so by following the instructions below.

Finding The Flightless Bird Painting

The Flightless Bird Painting is the first stage in obtaining the Fire's Deadly Sin incantation. The quickest method to find this painting is to go to Leyndell's West Capital Rampart Site of Grace and exit through the South door. Players can then proceed straight ahead down the stairwell and down the hallway, turning left at the end and jumping off the ledge past the stone columns. Players will be confronted with a massive building with a wide stone stairway.

Players should enter the building through the big arch on the far right and then through the door on the left. Players will enter the chamber with the Flightless Bird Painting by running to the end of this area and opening the door on the right. They will gain access to the "item" for the painting if they interact with it.

Solving The Flightless Bird Painting Puzzle In Elden Ring

Players will need to travel to the Windmill Heights Site of Grace in the Dominula, Windmill Village, a boss guarded teleport once they have obtained the item. Those who have yet to visit the Windmill Village should first visit the Outer Wall Battleground Site of Grace before continuing northwest along the road.

There are some adjacent trebuchets that line the left side of the road, and players should be sure to take out the enemy in charge of them before continuing down the road. Players will be able to see the windmills they are approaching from afar and will know they are near to the village when they see the Highway Lookout Tower. When they get to Dominula, Windmill Settlement, they should travel all the way to the north of the village to find the Windmill Heights Site of Grace.

It's worth noting that players won't be able to access the Windmill Village Site of Grace until they've dealt with the area's boss. Windmill Village forces players to face the Godskin Apostle as they ascend the path and staircases to the peak of Dominula. Those who don't want to fight the formidable boss can just run past him to the Fire's Deadly Sin area.

Those who want to fight him will be awarded his eponymous Twinblade, making the struggle worthwhile. When fighting the Godskin Apostle, it's best to remain a safe distance because his Twinblade may deal a lot of damage. When he goes into a fury with 50 percent health remaining, the harm becomes considerably more severe.

Players should head southeast from the Windmill Heights Site of Grace, past a massive windmill, and towards a medium-sized building off in the distance. If three dancing NPCs appear, players will know they've arrived at the right location. A spectral apparition can be found on the cliffside straight left (South) of the NPCs and structure. When players get close enough to it, it will vanish, and they will be rewarded with the Fire's Deadly Sin incantation.

What Does Fire's Deadly Sin do?

The invocation of Fire's Deadly Sin sets the user ablaze, igniting the area around them and doing damage to them and any opponents around over time. It costs 28 FP each time a player uses it and takes 19 Faith to use.

Although it may deal great damage to nearby adversaries (especially when equipped with the right weapons and talismans), it also causes players to take a significant amount of damage per second. As a result, it's recommended that players bring some type of heal with them or have a sufficient number of Crimson Flasks before using the invocation.
