Elden Ring: How to complete the Blaidd questline

Many questlines in Elden Ring can be missed if you glance away for a second. It can make a potentially difficult optional boss fight a breeze, and there are some potentially valuable prizes if you can persevere.

To activate it, you must have met the Merchant Kale in the Church of Elleh on your first visit to Limgrave. Presumably, a journey to eastern Limgrave's Mistwood Ruins is in order. Unfortunately, he is also known as Bloodhound Knight Darriwil. The good news is that Blaidd wants in on the action and he's tougher than you are, so you can simply sit back and enjoy the show. Without Blaidd's assistance, this is a much tougher questline to solo, however, there is a Stake of Marika outside for speedy return if you die, and you may always tag Blaidd in if you need to as long as this questline is active.

You'll automatically receive the Bloodhound Fang curved greatsword as a prize, before returning to the Evergaol. Blaidd will give you a Sombre Smithing Stone (2) before recommending a blacksmith. This is Smithing Master Iji, who can be found behind the fake wall at Kingsrealm Ruins in northern Liurnia, on the route to Carian Manor. In exchange for 5000 Runes, Iji will sell you a Carian Filigreed Crest. This reduces the Focus required to utilize your talents, which depends on your build.

The Half-Wolf also plays a key role in the long-running Ranni questline, thus his involvement in your adventure isn't over. You'll have to fight him over his armor and greatsword eventually, but that's not the end of the narrative.
