Elden Ring: How to defeat Magma Wyrm Makar
Elden Ring, FromSoftware's next venture into cruelty and masochism, features a slew of terrifying bosses eager to thrash players. The Magma Wyrm Makar, one of the bosses, has a couple of abilities that can quickly dispatch unsuspecting Tarnished if you aren't prepared.
After defeating Rennala, Magma Wyrm Makar can be located in the Ruin-Strewn Precipice. After battling poisonous harpies and their ilk, Tarnished will find this boss right outside a fog gate. Due to his length, Magma Wyrm Makar might be a simple kill for melee characters: he takes a little time to spin around, which players must take advantage of.
Players should sit near his tail while dealing damage to take advantage of his long turn animation. Makar tensely pushes himself off the ground before launching an attack, signaling the need to brace a shield with full physical-damage protection. When Makar starts spewing magma, it will assist players in using the massive pillar in the boss arena's center.
Makar will gently meander around this pillar, which can protect players from all attacks. This pillar is the saving grace for players who need to replenish HP or transfer weapons. If the Tarnished are still having trouble, equip fire-resistant runes and armors. Paying attention to boss strikes, on the other hand, should provide ample warning to avoid most AoE fires.
Finally, during the battle, keep close to Makar. Makar will dash across the arena, doing massive damage if given the chance. If players are near to his back, this animation will not play, but it's something to keep in mind if you favour a summon-based style of play. When the magma begins spouting, take a step back and then close the distance whenever it is safe to do so. Using the pillar's sluggish turn time to your advantage will secure victory and a new land to explore.
