Elden Ring: How to get to Impaler’s Catacombs

The Impaler's Catacombs is an optional early dungeon that you might find in Limgrave, Elden Ring's first zone. While it may not appear to be crucial to your trip, if you decide to put out the effort and overcome it, you will be rewarded with a powerful item. This tutorial will show you how to locate Impaler's Catacombs.

Where is Impaler’s Catacombs?

Impaler's Catacombs is located east of The First Step, the region from where you will emerge when you first begin the game. Follow the coast east until you reach a bridge defended by troops and a massive ballista. Fight your way past the bridge and to the left, traveling east down the opposite side of the coast. You'll eventually come across a door in the rock if you stick to the lower areas of the cliffs. It's at an area where the route is littered with gravestones. This is the entrance to the Catacombs of Impaler.

This is a difficult optional dungeon with many foes lurking in the shadows, ready to ambush you. The boss is similar to the one you'll be familiar with, but he'll be joined by smaller adversaries that will make life incredibly difficult for you. If you defeat the boss, you'll be rewarded with Demi-Human Ashes.
