Gran Turismo 7: How to get Gold on the Magic Mountain Slipstream mission

Some Gran Turismo 7 players get Gold on their first try on the Magic Mountain Slipstream assignment, while others can't get Gold no matter how many times they try. How is it possible? Is it because of the tyre bug in version 1.06? No, the Magic Mountain Slipstream quest is unaffected by this glitch.

So, what else could it be? On the same length of the Circuit de Sainte-Croix, each player is driving the same Porsche 356 A/1500 GS GT Carrera Speedster '56. There aren't any corners, thus it doesn't require much skill. We'll tell you what's wrong: it's because of the wind.

You can't get Gold on the Magic Mountain Slipstream quest if the wind is blowing against you, no matter how well you slipstream the two other cars. Check the wind on your Race Display (switch it on in Display Settings if it isn't already) if you want to score Gold on the Magic Mountain Slipstream mission.

If the arrow is pointing down, simply exit the task and begin again. Retry isn't a good option because it doesn't reset the wind. You must first choose Exit, then Start. The arrow does not have to be pointing up. It should be fine to go to the left or right, but not down.
