Even if you're playing version 1.06 of Gran Turismo 7, passing the International A Dirt Driving: Expert test (IA-3) is difficult, much alone getting a Silver or Gold. This is due to a glitch introduced by mistake in version 1.06 that causes cars in some licence tests, missions, and circuit experiences to have incorrect tyres. If you start licence test IA-3 with the Display Settings set to "Display All," you'll see RH (Racing Hard) tyres in the bottom-left corner of your screen.

Racing tyres have no place on a Ford Focus Gr. B Rally Car (or any other rally car), particularly on a dirt circuit. D (Dirt) tyres should be used. They were in GT7 version 1.05 and will be once Polyphony Digital fixes the problem.

For the time being, the RH tyres provide just enough traction to pass this licencing test. Our first piece of advice is to take it easy as soon as you reach the crest after the start; this will drastically lessen the possibility of losing control of your vehicle as it jumps.

Next, when you pass the beginning of the orange barriers, slam on the brakes, let off right before the corner, and use your handbrake (Circle button) to turn the car forcefully into the bend. Use your conventional brakes to reduce speed ahead of the corner, then use your handbrake to glide through the apex on every bend on this stretch of Fisherman's Ranch.

When you're approaching the final turn, don't get too excited. You'll feel like you can get a lot of power out of it at full throttle, but the road is uneven and sloping down here, reducing your grip significantly, so be careful not to slide off the right side of the track.
