If you're wondering why the International B licence IB-5 test in Gran Turismo 7 feels tougher than other tests, it's due to a glitch that was mistakenly introduced in version 1.06. For several licencing exams, missions, and circuit experiences, notably the IB-5 test, if you're playing 1.06, your car will have improper tyres.

Even with CS (Comfort Soft) tyres attached to your Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V GSR '98 instead of the usual D (Dirt) tyres, getting a Gold on this test will be difficult until Polyphony Digital addresses the glitch. Bronze and Silver are still entirely doable.

This test takes place on a section of the Sardegna – Windmills circuit, and you'll notice the loss of grip in the second half of the test if you're playing version 1.06 and driving with the improper tyres. Move across to the grass on the left at the start so that you're approaching the first bend in a straight path.

Enter the first bend by forcefully turning the steering wheel to the right (but not so much that you slide sideways) and gently easing off (don't brake) to power through the apex on the grass. Take a straight path through the next stretch, using the grass as necessary, then brake early for the first of three tight, uphill bends (right before the wide shadow across the track).

You'll notice a difference with these tyres from here on out. Because it's enjoyable and looks amazing, you and your car will both feel compelled to powerslide through the last stretch, switching left and right and flinging up dirt like a rally superstar. However, it significantly slows you down. Instead, try to climb the hill in a nearly straight line with minimal skidding. Cut over the grass of each of the three bends, being careful not to press your foot down too hard or turn too suddenly, as this will cause you to lose your hold.
