Elden Ring: How to Play the Hero

Elden Ring has the class for you if you want to play a true beefcake. The Hero class is a melee-based fighter with traditional strength who will tank their way through the Lands Between. Your primary focus will be on determining which weapons are best suited to your playstyle and how to effectively distribute your runes. The Hero class has the highest starting strength of any class, starting at level seven. It also has a high level of vigour and endurance, allowing you to take more damage and carry more gear. A battleaxe and a huge leather shield are the only items available to heroes at the outset. The battleaxe is a wonderful starting weapon, and improving it with Smithing Stones is a good choice if you enjoy using it. The huge leather shield, on the other hand, should be replaced with a shield with a higher damage reduction. However, there are still a few different ways to play the Hero.

The most important decision is whether or not to use a shield. Shielding allows you to take attacks and not have to avoid them all the time, whereas not shielding allows you to use two hands or even twin weapons. You should invest endurance points in the Hero class because it is better with strength-based weapons, which are typically significantly heavier. Any weapon that is two-handed will cause more damage, so if you're strong at evading and don't want to use a shield, this is a perfect alternative.

The Lordsworn Greatsword, a superb early sword that performs well as a two-handed weapon, is a great complement to this class. Another good choice is the combat hammer, which can easily stun foes. To get it, you'll have to journey to the Murkwater Catacombs and beat the Grave Warden Duelist. The Greataxe is guarded by two giant trolls and can be found in Limgrave. It's a powerful heavy weapon that can deal a lot of damage and is more powerful than the battleaxe you start with. If you're having trouble surviving in the early game, invest some runes in vigour to boost your health and go exploring for better armour. Prepare to be the most tanky Tarnished in the Lands Between.
