These light-colored stones aren't particularly useful in your daily tasks as you strive to become the next Elden Lord, but they can provide you with some insight along the way. These items are used to determine whether or not a fall will be lethal to your character. Before you jump, throw the item you have in your inventory over a cliff or down below you. If the stone creates a high-pitched sound, there's a strong possibility your character will hit the ground and die if they fall from that spot. If the sound is low, though, you have a decent chance of surviving and can safely fall to the ground.

Climb and explore the ledges and cliffs found across the Lands Between. It's critical to understand which ones you can survive, and this will alter throughout your adventure as you collect more Vigor and Endurance to strengthen your character. Despite your heightened strength, double-checking a fall with a Rainbow Stone never hurts.
