Pokemon GO: Can Sudowoodo Be Shiny?

There's a lot going on in Pokemon GO this week, but the Sudowoodo Spotlight Hour is worth remembering. In a Spotlight Hour, Pokemon GO spotlights a new Pokemon each week. There are five Spotlight Hours this month because March has five Tuesdays and Spotlight Hours are always held on Tuesdays. In Pokemon GO, here's all you need to know about Sudowoodo's Spotlight Hour.

Pokemon Go Sudowoodo Spotlight Hour Schedule

On Tuesday, March 22, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, the Sudowoodo Spotlight Hour will take place. Sudowoodo will have a higher chance of appearing in the wild during this time. There are a variety of additional activities available, beginning on Tuesday with the Lush Jungle event, but don't forget to catch Sudowoodo as soon as possible. You never know, you might even capture a gleaming one.

Can Sudowoodo Be Shiny?

Sudowoodo is a shiny Pokemon in Pokemon GO. So, if you're a shiny hunter who hasn't gotten your hands on a shiny Sudowoodo yet, now's your chance. While the chance of capturing a shiny Sudowoodo does not rise during the Spotlight Hour, the number of Sudowoodos does, which means you have a better chance of getting one.

Sudowoodo's gleaming surface is truly one-of-a-kind. The Sudowoodo shiny variant, unlike some other Pokemon's shiny variations, offers it a completely new look. Sudowoodo's main body is brown, like a tree, and its hands feature green orbs that resemble leaves or unripe fruit in the normal version. Sudowoodo's primary body is green, like a moss-covered tree, and the green leaves or unripe fruit orbs are replaced with red, ripe fruit orbs in the shining form.

Sudowoodo Spotlight Hour Bonuses

There is a Spotlight Hour Bonus for each Spotlight Hour. The Sudowoodo Spotlight Hour Bonus is 2x Catch XP for the whole hour. This boost applies to all Pokemon captured during this time period, not just Sudowoodo. In Pokemon GO, the level of Pokemon you catch in the wild is determined by your XP. You're more likely to get a more powerful Pokemon if you're at a higher level.
