Tunic: How to defeat the Siege Engine
There are plenty of big bosses to defeat in Tunic. They're all bigger than the small fox hero, don't you think? Even so, the Siege Engine guarding the Eastern Vault is the largest you'll encounter. The Siege Engine is a massive machine that rains bullets like a walking tank. The Guard Captain is a stocky soldier, the Garden Knight is a laser-shooting automaton, and the Guard Captain is a laser-shooting automaton. Here's how to reduce it.
To begin with, it may seem paradoxical, but the ideal place to be is right up against this monstrosity. You'll be secure behind the different bits of cover on the battlefield when it fires its bullet spree or giant sweeping laser, but you'll also be safe right up in its face then rolling to the side as the attack approaches.
This keeps you near enough to attack when it lowers its face, which you must do frequently. The fuel canister beneath its body absorbs additional damage, but you don't always have the opportunity to attack it. The Siege Engine's stomp assault is the only real hazard in sticking close, so be ready to roll away if you see it lift a leg.
Only two further attacks are available to the boss. A tiny squad of flying adversaries is summoned by one of these. You have two options for dealing with them: use the Fire Rod to quickly dispatch them from a distance, or simply ignore them and let the Siege Engine's attacks do the rest.
Its last strike is a cluster of miniature explosives that advance toward you before detonating, destroying the flying foes in the process. This assault is designed to get you out of cover, so you'll rarely see it if you stay near to the boss.
You'll come out on top if you're aggressive and ready to deal with some potential flying minions. Don't be put off by the Siege Engine's size.
