Tunic: How to get the Magic Rod

By the time you've played Tunic for a few hours, you'll probably have a good sense of the game. You've got your trusty blade, a few items, and you may have even snatched the Magic Dagger from the West Garden. However, many of your combat options are still limited to melee, and it's sometimes great to dispatch an opponent from afar. Don't worry, the game provides you with a ranged weapon in the form of the Magic Rod. Here's where you may look for it.

To begin, you must defeat the Guard Captain and the Garden Knight, respectively, in order to ring the Eastern and Western bells. Once you've done that, you can return to the Sealed Temple in the Overworld's center and enter. Inside, make your way through the main room and up the ladder to the upper level, where you can weave your way to the upper exit.

Follow the way to the upper cliffs of the Overworld, climb the ladder, and continue west to a massive golden monolith. The Magic Rod can be found floating in front of it, allowing you to unleash long-range magic blasts. They're not as powerful as your sword, but they let you keep your distance from adversaries while still killing some of them in one hit. Don't stray too far from the golden monolith, as it houses the key to one of the missing instructional pages.
