Tunic: How to increase your stats

Tunic is a wonderful little game, but even with the help of beautifully designed in-game instruction, some of its features can be a little tough to understand. Your small fox's ability to level up one of six stats, including attack, defense, HP, MP, stamina, and potion efficacy, is governed by one such system. The answer is straightforward, as is often the case with Tunic, given you know what to look for.

Page 18 of the manual, which can be located behind the windmill in the Overworld, contains the key to leveling up. The idea may be extracted from the screenshots, despite the fact that there is very little intelligible language on the page.

Only at shrines, which are placed across the world and serve as checkpoints for your hero, can you level up. Simply press LB (or Tab if you're using a mouse and keyboard) to travel down to the stat-boosting objects in the bottom-right corner while you're standing in front of one.

Choose one, and the game will ask whether you want to level it up at a fee of one of the goods and some currency. Each succeeding level will cost more, with the Potion stat experiencing a significant increase in cost from level 3 to 4.
