Back 4 Blood: What is Makeshift Armor?

Makeshift Armor is a new gear in Back 4 Blood that doesn't provide much protection against the hordes of Ridden, but it can mean the difference between surviving a strong battle and dying when your team needs you the most. In Back 4 Blood, the Makeshift Armor is used for the following purposes.

Makeshift Armor is a new item that may be found in various locations and shows as an orange shield on your character's symbol. When you have some on, the next significant strike that hits you will be absorbed and the armor will be destroyed. These hits are usually delivered by Mutated Ridden such as Exploders and Tall Boys, as well as boss adversaries such as Ogres and Brawlers.

You can equip more Makeshift Armor if you find it, but you should consider sharing it with your colleagues. If someone is hogging it, it makes others more vulnerable to large-scale attacks from more terrifying foes.

If anyone on your squad is playing as Sharice, they can find and make Armor Plates, which will add to their health bar in a blue portion. This benefits her as well as her colleagues, making her an excellent choice for more challenging runs.
