Chrono Cross The Radical Dreamers Edition: How to get and use Komodo Scales

In Chrono Cross, one of your first important tasks is to find Komodo Scales for your childhood friend Leena. She'll direct you to your first dungeon, Lizard Rock, southwest of Arni Village. Here's how to purchase and use Komodo Scales in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition. Once in Lizard Rock, you may see these little colored lizards that flee at your sight. There are three to find, and catching them requires some puzzle solving:

First Komodo Dragon

The first one is on the first screen, towards the map's centre. Trying to chase the Komodo Dragon down the tunnel will cause it to despawn, forcing you to reset the map by departing and re-entering. To avoid this, push the enormous shell to the left to cover the Dragon's escape hole. Then wrap around and approach the Dragon from the right, blocking the hole. Get the first of three Scales by defeating it.

Second Komodo Dragon

From the first Dragon, head south to the screenshot. You'll likely scare the Dragon away, which is OK now. Once you've defeated the two Beach Bums, you'll be on a ledge overlooking the location where you were when the Dragon respawned. You must time your jump to land directly on the Dragon to fight it. If you miss, the Dragon will flee, but you can return to the ledge and attempt again. Defeat it in the battle for your second Scale.

Third Komodo Dragon

Return to the first screen and turn left. When approached from the north, the Dragon will slowly flee. Catching this Dragon is as simple as chasing it and hugging the corners. Preparation for the last Dragon battle with Mother Komodo. With all three Scales obtained, you may catch up to Leena on the beach by traveling southwest and leaving onto the World Map.
