Chrono Cross The Radical Dreamers Edition: How to recruit Guile
Following your conversation with Korcha in Termina, you must return to the city's entrance and proceed north. You'll find an elderly gentleman dusting the Viper Statue here. He'll go on about how he received an invitation to the Viper Manor and how you won't be able to attend. You'll need to find a guide to the Viper Manor after finishing his dialogue (and, if you haven't already, recruiting Kid). In Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition, here's how to find Guile.
To begin with, there are technically three guides to pick from, but choosing one will prevent you from accessing the other two throughout this play. Guile the magician, Nikki the rocker, and Pierre the vain swordsman are the three guides. You can get items connected to them on any file, but you won't be able to get them all unless you load a finished game file into a Continue+ file after clearing the game.
If you want to recruit all three, it's best to make three save files first and then recruit each of them on a separate file before continuing. You can start with any of these files, but Guile is the most powerful of the three and will be of great assistance if you're new to Chrono Cross.
After witnessing the Viper Statue scenario and recruiting Kid, go to the Bar, which is shown in the article's header image. A character with purple hair can be found peering into a corner on the far left. If you talk to him long enough, you'll be able to persuade him to join your group. For this point of the game, his Element powers are incredibly potent, so you can move forward with confidence.
