Chrono Cross The Radical Dreamers Edition: How to recruit Kid and Poshul

The sheer quantity (and methods) of party member recruitment choices available in Chrono Cross is one of the game's most unique elements. Some members can only be collected in a single location at a given time, while others demand a large number of Key Items — and still, others can be ignored and recruited at a later date.

Kid is an exception because she is one of the game's "primary" characters, but you shouldn't recruit her right away because it will lock you out of another character. In Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition, here's how to recruit Kid.

Before going to Lizard Rock, go to the right-most house in Arni Village to recruit Poshul. Go to the back of the house, where a dog is playing, and look through the bed. A Heckran Bone key item will be given to you. Go outside and then to Arni Village's left-most screen, where you'll notice a pink dog running about in the backdrop.

To have Poshul join you, press Square (PS4/5), Y (Switch), or X (Xbox) to bring up your Key Item menu and select the Heckran Bone. Make your way through the game until you come face to face with Karsh. You will be given the choice to enlist Kid as a party member after beating Karsh, Solt, and Peppor. It is strongly advised that you reject her three times.

Kid is still available for recruitment, of course. Kid can be found in Termina after you've recruited Poshul, unlocked further exploration in the Hydra Marshes by getting slapped by a plant, and gathered the Skelly skull and the Big Egg in the Fossil Valley. Ignore her storming off in the direction of the shrine, and instead walk east to engage with Glenn.

After that, go beneath the building and speak with Korcha near the water's edge before returning to Termina's entrance and heading north. You'll come across an old guy polishing a statue, and after speaking with him, Kid will return and ask to join your company once more. If you accept her offer, you will receive Kid as well as the Teleporter key item.
