Elden Ring: How to use Thrusting Swords and where to find them

Get ready, musketeers; Elden Ring only has two decent rapier-style blades. The Thrusting Swords class is always there and always ignored in every Souls game, and they are marginally better but not that different in Elden Ring.

Thrusting Swords are exactly what they seem like: swords designed to provide a quick, penetrating thrust that can be useful against heavily armored and shielded foes, as well as stun-locking those with low poise into repeated stabs. There are two types of good Thrusting Swords:

Antspur Rapier: Essentially a gigantic ant's stinger fashioned into a rapier, the Antspur Rapier functions similarly to all other thrusting weapons, with the extra benefit of causing Scarlet Rot accumulation, which will likely kill most adversaries faster than the Antspur Rapier's thrust and stabs. The Antspur Rapier is dropped by the NPC Maleigh Marais in the Shaded Castle Castellan and requires 10 Strength and 20 Dexterity.

Frozen Needle: Made of a tiny icepick, the Frozen Needle has the same move set as the Thrusting Swords, but with the added benefit of Frost accumulation. Aside from having 11 Strengths and 18 Dexterity, players must defeat the Royal Revenant boss in Kingsrealm Ruins in order to gain entry to the room and chest where the Frozen Needle is hidden.
