MLB The Show 22: How do supercharged players work in Diamond Dynasty

Baseball's Opening Day has finally here. For many spectators, it's the most exciting day of the season, and for MLB The Show 22 participants, it's the point at which strategy begins to take shape. If you've ever played Major League Baseball, you're already aware of how Inside Edge affects live series cards. Stats fluctuate depending on who a player is against on any given day. The Supercharged mechanism has been added to MLB The Show 22 this year.

Supercharged is a new limited-time mechanism that boosts players for 48 hours after a big game. Sony San Diego guaranteed that seven players will be supercharged to commemorate the seven games being played on April 7 in a blog post describing the mechanism. Sony also specifies that this is intended to be a "rare occurrence," so it's unclear how frequently this new feature will be used.

One thing to keep in mind is that this will have no effect on the card's rarity, and thus its quick sell value, instead of enhancing the specific stats noted in the performance. Following his hypothetical real-world performance, only metrics versus right-handed pitchers were raised for Brett Phillips, as shown in the example above.

Supercharged cards won't completely change the game, but they will give roster construction the dynamic sense that so many MLB The Show fans seek.
