MLB The Show 22: How to add and remove different pitches in Ballplayer and Road to the Show

Equipping pitches to a Ballplayer in MLB The Show 21 was tiresome. Users had to attend training sessions to add new pitches. New quality-of-life changes have made outfitting pitches and modifying the repertoire of Ballplayers easier. Here's how to update your MLB The Show 22 repertoire. Go to the Profile icon in the top-left corner of the screen. On Xbox or PlayStation, this is where your Gamertag or PSN ID appears. Select the generated Ballplayer and click Loadout.

Next, make sure that Ballplayer's loadout has a pitcher archetype. You can't edit pitches if the Ballplayer has the Sparking Slugger archetype. Set it to a pitcher archetype like Filthy Cheese. While this won't matter if you're only a pitcher (since you'll probably have a pitcher archetype), it will if you're a two-way player.

Now look to the right side of the screen. You may see the original pitches here. Select a slot using A/B/X, then choose from the possibilities. Options include sinkers, splitters, circle changes, screwballs, and forkballs.

To use the loadout, select the check icon. To modify the pitch selection, un-select the archetype, pick a new one, then re-select it. This restores the default pitches. The knuckleball is one option that may be locked. Reason: Road to the Show Ballplayer players can migrate to Diamond Dynasty. Below is further information on knuckleballs.
