MLB The Show 22: What is Dynamic Difficulty and should you turn it on?
Dynamic Difficulty has been a part of MLB The Show 22 for a long time, but it can be a little confusing for newcomers. On the one hand, gamers may desire an experience that grows and challenges them over time. What if, on the other hand, you just want a fun game where you can hit 20 home runs in a game? With that in mind, what exactly is Dynamic Difficulty, and why should you enable it in MLB The Show 22?
A dynamic Difficulty is an option that changes the difficulty of the game on both the batting and pitching sides of the game on a regular basis. Essentially, if you have a lot of baserunners on during your at-bat, the difficulty will gradually increase until the game determines that you are performing at a level appropriate for your abilities. If you start to struggle, the game will reduce the difficulty to match your needs.
Both options work in the same way but focus on different aspects of the game, so you can use Dynamic Difficulty on pitching if you find it too easy, but keep it off on hitting if you like where you are. In the Gameplay section of Settings, you can turn it on or off at any moment (including during games).
Is it a good idea to enable Dynamic Difficulty? That is entirely a personal decision for you to make. This setting solely impacts online matches versus AI teams; online matches between friends and opponents will not be affected in any way. We recommend turning it on if you want to see how you're progressing as a player on both sides of the ball. However, it is not a flawless method, and if the difficulty does not drop quickly enough for you, it can lead to some frustrating games.
