Overwatch 2: How to ping
Because of the simplicity with which you may interact with teammates who don't have a mic or aren't in your party, ping systems have quickly become the norm in any first-person shooter. A single button press can send a message to your teammates regarding an item, an enemy's location, and more. Overwatch 2 includes a new ping system, which is a good thing. Here's how to put it to good use.
In Overwatch 2, you can ping by clicking the scroll wheel on your mouse or pressing left on the d-pad on a gamepad. You can put a flag on whatever you're shooting at and swiftly call out enemies if you're aiming at them with a quick press. If you keep your finger on the input, a little menu of options for communicating with your teammates will appear.
If you have a ping on an enemy, it will stay there as long as you have them in your sights. If you lose them, the chevron will remain in its most recent known location to indicate where you last saw them.
