Apex Legends: How to Play Newcastle

Season 13 of Apex Legends has begun, and with it comes a new Legend, Newcastle. Here's how to play Apex Legends' Newcastle.

Unlocking Newcastle in Apex Legends

Any new Legends/characters in Apex Legends must first be unlocked before they can be used. There are two ways to get a new Legend.

Using Legend Tokens

Spending 12,000 Legend Tokens is the first option. Each level gives you 600 Legend Tokens. It would take 20 levels to reach the required quantity if you started with zero Legend Tokens. You will still level up and collect Legend Tokens if you have achieved the maximum level of 500; however, your level will not increase.

Using APEX Coins

Alternatively, you can spend 750 APEX Coins. The cheapest purchase is 1,000 APEX Coins for $9.99. Players that attain level 110 on the premium battle pass will receive 1,300 APEX Coins. A bundle of 3,000 APEX Coins ($39.99) is also available in the Featured section of the in-game store. It contains:

• Newcastle unlock
• Heroic Command Legendary Newcastle skin
• Military Made Legendary Rampage skin
• Duty. Fidelity. Honor. Epic Holo

When playing Duos, Trios, or Arenas, you can select Newcastle from the selection screen after he's unlocked. This boosts the overall number of playable legends to twenty-one. Even so, new Legends are a huge deal, so if you don't get the first pick on the selection, someone else may grab it before you.
