Elden Ring: How to Get to Minor Erdtree Catacombs
Catacombs are a dungeon type that appears frequently in Elden Ring, with each one including a boss fight, a valuable Spirit Ash, and occasionally some light puzzle-solving to keep things interesting. Minor Erdtree Catacombs are no exception, so let's see how to go there in Elden Ring (& why you should go there)
Getting to Minor Erdtree Catacombs in Elden Ring
Travel to Summonwater Village Outskirts Site of Grace
Follow the road east towards Caelid from this place in Eastern Limgrave (keeping an eye out for the Tibia Mariner if you haven't already defeated it).
Take the road that leads to the Minor Erdtree.
Continue along the route, past the Smoldering Church (but not into Caelid).
Follow the way to the Minor Erdtree's base.
A route leading to the base of the Minor Erdtree can be found to the left. Keep an eye out for the Erdtree Guardians who will ambush you on your journey.
The Erdtree Avatar should be avoided or confronted.
You'll come face to face with an Erdtree Avatar at the bottom. To avoid it, either dispatch it or circle the tree to the right.
Open the Minor Erdtree Catacombs' door.
It's easy to overlook, but behind the Minor Erdtree is a door that leads to the Minor Erdtree Catacombs.
Take the elevator down, open the boss door with the lever, and exit through the hallway beneath the elevator.
The Catacombs' lower floor is accessible via elevator from the inside. Continue as normal, then use the lever at the end to open the boss door and return to the beginning. Return the elevator to the top, then roll off the platform to enter a different section of the Catacombs (pictured below).
The Erdtree Burial Watchdogs must be defeated.
The boss fight here is a little hard because you have to fight two Erdtree Burial Watchdogs at once. The one with the sword will fight you up close, while the one with the scepter will cast spells at you from afar.
Claim your reward.
You will be rewarded with the Mad Pumpkin Head Ashes after defeating the Erdtree Burial Watchdogs, a strong Spirit Ash summon in its own right.
Minor Erdtree Catacombs Reward
The Mad Pumpkin Head Ashes will be your reward for clearing the dungeon and slaying the boss, as previously stated. This is a nice reward because it allows you to summon the game's iconic mini-boss as a companion, which can assist you to eliminate huge groups of opponents or simply distract aggro away from yourself. It's worth noting, though, that it has an FP cost of 110, which means you'll need to acquire a lot of Mind points before you can summon it.
