What Does the Arcane Stat Do in Elden Ring?

The Arcane stat "governs discovery," according to the Stats menu description, which effectively implies that you'll be able to locate stuff on standard defeated foes more frequently. In addition, the stat influences Vitality, Holy Damage Defense, and the effectiveness of some Sorceries and Incantations.
