Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2: How to block hits using a lightsaber

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 currently gives blade wielders a number of advantages over other players thanks to the limited-time addition of lightsabers. The ability to stop incoming pistol or blaster fire for short periods of time is the most underappreciated asset. Better better, players that master it will be rewarded with a substantial amount of XP and possibly an exclusive item.

By holding down their respective aim-down-sights button, anyone wielding a lightsaber can block. To keep the ability from being powerful, only 10 bullets can be blocked at a time before it goes on a three-second cooldown. The new Mythic weapon has a limitless quantity of ammo, allowing its bullets to outlast your blocks in the long run.

Blocking has a number of advantages outside of the game as well. For example, completing a challenge in the new May the 4th set of missions will earn you 30,000 XP if you block 10 strikes or shots. However, if you complete all of the Star Wars-themed challenges, the game will reward you with a special Empire banner. Other tasks include visiting a Stormtrooper station and placing in the top 25, as well as accomplishing a Stormtrooper bounty.
