V Rising: How to get and make scrolls
Did you think you were done with technology? It turns out there's a whole other level of technology waiting to be explored. This is where the scrolls from V Rising come in handy. You'll find a broad array of goods, including Scrolls, around the Farmlands. These will be the primary items you'll need to go to the next level of technology in your research.
How to get Scrolls in V Rising
Scrolls, like paper, are widely available in the Farmlands region. They can be found in almost every human territory, including:
- Militia Encampments.
- Militia Camps.
- Dunley Monastery.
- Dawnbreak Village.
The Dunley Monastery and Dawnbreak Village will be the finest places to get scrolls. These places are densely packed with adversaries, chests, and smashable objects that may drop the goodies. They are also rather large and, depending on your farming base location, easily accessible. During the night, you can raid a number of minor militia camps and encampments. These places are teeming with hostile NPCs who will fight back. However, doing rapid back-to-back raids in these locations every other day over time can net you some decent resources. Remember that unlocking research in the study will require 75 scrolls. So start killing people in the fields.
How to make Scrolls in V Rising
You can use the printing press to manufacture scrolls, paper, and schematics once you reach the mid-game, but first, you must perform the following:
- Kill Frostmaw the Mountain Terror.
- Build a Printing Press
- Collect sawdust, gemdust, and paper
To begin, you must track down Frostmaw, the Mountain Terror, the V opponent. He is a gear score level 56 enemy who can be located east of the grass and timber sections in the cold mountain. It's at the fork in the road where the north route leads to the farmlands, the east road circles the mountain, and the southern road leads to the forests.
You will gain the ability to manufacture scrolls after killing Frostmaw. You will, however, require a printing press. Using the new study research table, you can get your hands on printing press research. You can either get lucky with random research utilizing the scrolls you already have, or you can go for one of those books containing printing press research.
You can use sawdust from a lumber mill to make scrolls if you unlock and place the printing press. You'll also need paper, which you can make in the paper mill, which you gain access to after completing the first research bench. At the Printing Press, you may also make paper. We recommend stockpiling surplus paper at the paper mill in preparation for using the Printing Press to complete the Study's research duties.
