My Time at Sandrock: How to Upgrade Tools
Players may come across a shaking symbol while exploring the Sandrock environment, indicating that they do not have the necessary tool to extract that resource. A set of bronze tools is the first upgrade available in My Time at Sandrock. Players are guided through the process of making stone tools, but there isn't as much guidance when it comes to upgrading to bronze tools. You'll need to gather all of the essential raw materials and bring them to your workshop to manufacture the bronze Pickhammer and Axe.
Upgrading to an Iron Pickhammer and Axe in My Time at Sandrock
You'll want to move on to the iron variants once you've mastered the bronze Pickhammer and Axe. It may take some time to gather these materials, and their manufacture involves the use of an intermediary worktable. Steel bars, which are made out of iron ore, graphite, and dinas, are required for iron tools. In the second abandoned ruins, you can find iron ore and graphite, while in the Eufaula Salvage Ruins, you can get dinas by mining the soil or dusting off sand from your machinery.
To smelt steel bars, you'll need a civil furnace, although you can also get them in iron scrap, which is the easiest way to find them before entering the second ruins. In order to find a steel bar, a civil recycler will have to pick through the scrap. After you've got four steel bars, you'll need a hardwood stick produced by the processor out of hardwood. You'll need two of these, as well as two sharpening stones, to manufacture the iron tools.
Bronze Pickhammer with Bronze Axe
Take a look at the materials you'll need to make the bronze Pickhammer and Axe on the worktable. A better worktable is not required for the bronze Pickhammer and Axe, but you will need certain machines to make the materials. The components are listed below, along with where you can get them.
- Four bronze bars- Smelted from copper and tin ore in a furnace or purchased at the Hammer Time shop. Copper and tin ore may be mined at the Eufaula Salvage Ruins.
- One sharpening stone- Only available at Hammer Time.
- Two wooden sticks- constructed on the workbench from three pieces of wood.
- Two copper screws- homemade or purchased from Hammer Time.
My Time at Sandrock customers can only use those two tool upgrades during early access. When new tools become available, we'll keep you informed.
