Are there gyms in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

Scarlet and Violet (SV) will take the series in an interesting new direction. Rather than being a linear adventure that you must complete from beginning to end, it will be an open-world adventure that allows you to travel to any place you like while playing the game. You won't have to concentrate on a single area and make the same progress like everyone else. Instead, embark on a one-of-a-kind experience and try something new. Can we expect gyms in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet because it's an open-world game?

Will Gyms be in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

It is unknown whether or not gyms were deleted for Pokémon SV. However, we see an arena-like setting near the end of the second trailer for Pokémon SV before getting a peek at the two forthcoming legendary Pokémon. The PokéBall emblem is in the center of the arena, with flowers in the surrounding area where people would sit to watch the big show. The arena is only briefly visible in the trailer. We can only imagine that this is where a gym would be located because there are no ongoing battles or individuals in the neighborhood.

However, without evidence from the Pokémon Company that gyms have been removed from SV, we doubt they will be. They've appeared in every single one of the main Pokémon games. Pokémon Legends: Arceus was one of the few Pokémon games without gyms, but it was a one-off adventure rather than one of the series' main titles.

Hopefully, we'll get more information closer to the November 18 release of Pokémon SV. We don't know if Gyms will be included in the game or not. However, because it will be one of the main Pokémon games, we advise you to expect them.
