Can you catch a shiny Shaymin in Pokémon Go?
In Pokémon Go, Shaymin is one of the few mythological Pokémon available. A legendary Pokémon is not the same as a mythological Pokémon. Legendary Pokémon can emerge in five-star raids, but mythical Pokémon only appear on rare occasions and for Special Research missions that must be completed at specified periods. Can you capture a shiny Shaymin in Pokémon Go because it's one of these rare, elusive Pokémon?
Can you catch a shiny Shaymin?
We can confirm that a shiny Shaymin will not appear in Shaymin's initial appearance in Pokémon Go. You won't be able to capture a shiny Shaymin when it makes its debut in 2022 at Pokémon Go Fest. This Pokémon may be caught by purchasing a ticket to Go Fest 2022 and then completing the special Special Research. It's a sure thing, however, because Shaymin is a mythological Pokémon, a shiny variant won't be available because they're even rarer than regular shiny versions.
We may expect a gleaming Shaymin to appear at some point in the future, most likely in conjunction with a special event, similar to Celebi. In the smartphone game, a mythological Pokémon is only available at certain times. The same might be said for a gleaming version. This is in stark contrast to the standard and legendary versions. When a legendary Pokémon gets its shiny version, which usually happens a year later, there's a chance you'll see it as a shiny in five-star raids in the future.
The fabled Pokémon, on the other hand, only appear in their shining form at particular Special Research events. You may miss out on these opportunities if you are not in-game for certain occasions. Shaymin's shiny variant is expected to be released in the future, probably after Pokémon Go Fest 2022.
