Mario Strikers Battle League: Can you customize controls?

Nintendo has a history of ensuring that gamers get the full experience of a game. Even for the most basic customization choices like control settings, Nintendo rarely allows its gamers to tweak numerous parts of their games. Nonetheless, the company is becoming more forgiving of these faults. If you're not a fan of the default controls in Mario Strikers: Battle League, you might be wondering if you can change them. We do, however, have an answer.

Can Mario Strikers: Battle League’s controls be changed?

In Mario Strikers: Battle League, there is no option to adjust the controls in-game. The passing, shooting and other controls are locked in the way Nintendo intended. When you go into Settings and select Controls, all you'll see is an illustration illustrating what each button input accomplishes for different Nintendo Switch controller setups; there's no ability to adjust them.

While you won't be able to change the controls on the fly, you can remap your Switch controller to do so. This is done in the System Settings, and it will modify the function of the input you change. It's worth noting, though, that this will permanently change that controller in all future games, so if you want the default controls in other games, you'll have to change it again. Unfortunately, if you don't like Nintendo's Mario Strikers: Battle League controls, that's your only option for switching to a more pleasant system.

You can't change the way your characters play, but you can modify how they play. The game offers a variety of cosmetics, ranging from Turbo Gear to Muscle Gear to even Bushido Gear, that will change your numbers and turn players like Peach into soccer stars.
