Reports of an active shooter situation in the town of Allen City in Floyd County

WMDJ FM 100.1 reports that there is a shooting incident taking on in Floyd County at this time. It has been reported by the station that law enforcement officers from the Kentucky State Police and the Floyd County Sheriff's Department are currently on the scene of an ongoing shooting in the city of Allen. It was alleged that the event began as a marital quarrel at about four in the afternoon. It has been confirmed by WMDJ that there has been one person shot and that the situation has escalated to a barricade.

The Ashland and London offices of the ATF have also responded to the gunshot and armed barricade situation in Floyd County, according to ATF Louisville, which confirmed the news. In an interview with Mountain Top News, Ralph Davis mentioned that there are several state police and an ambulance stationed in the vicinity of the New Allen signal. KY It is currently impossible to travel on Route 1428 between Allen curve and Citizens Bank of Kentucky. According to reports, the incident is taking place on Main Street.

Several departments throughout the law enforcement community have posted messages of support and prayer for the policemen who are now on the scene in Floyd County. Hodgenville Police Department tweeted, "Multiple law enforcement personnel have reportedly been shot, and the scene is still active, according to reports coming out of Floyd County, Kentucky. We ask that you pray for our brothers tonight since it is likely that they may require your support."

Magoffin County Sheriff's Department shared, "Our hearts are heavy tonight. We would like to ask that you please pray for our fellow law enforcement officers and first responders who are dealing with the critical situation in Allen. Each day when an officer goes out, he never knows if he is going to make it back home. These are special people with a desire to put others' lives ahead of their own. Please lift them up…they need you right now!"

The Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives Bureau has verified that there was a gunshot and that someone is currently barricaded inside. ATF employees from the Ashland and London locations are making their way to the location of the incident.
