Sonic Origins Multiplayer Guide: How to Play With Friends

The majority of recent games contain a multiplayer component. Many of them do, whether in co-op or even smaller versions. People enjoy playing games with one another. Sonic Origins is technically a collection of the first four mainline Sonic games combined into one. So there you have it: all you need to know about Sonic Origins and its multiplayer features.

Sonic Origins Multiplayer Setup

Multiplayer is only available in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles. In terms of configurations, these games are also limited. Both of these games can be played cooperatively or competitively. Both games allow Tails to join Sonic on his trip, starting with the cooperative experience. However, you must decide if you wish to play as both Sonic and Tails in your adventure.

When you play as Sonic with his twin-tailed companion, Tails is usually controlled by the AI. If you have another controller connected to the gaming system you're playing on, you can control him. Of course, he is free to do whatever he wants, including fight foes, gathers rings, and die. Tail's death has no actual ramifications because the game's focus is on whether Sonic is alive or not.

Both games offer a specific second mode where you can race against another person if you want to be more competitive. Choose between Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails as your character. Then choose a level and some rules, and you're ready to race to the finish line or complete the most laps.

How to Play With Friends

Unfortunately, you won't be able to play any of the games included in this collection online. In terms of competing with a friend, the best you'll be able to do is one-up each other's level completion times. You can see this by heading to the Museum Menu and selecting My Data & Ranking.
