Wimpod is one of the various Pokémon that may be found in Pokémon Go. It makes its début during the Pokémon TCG Crossover event, allowing anyone to catch it in the wild. If you discover enough Wimpod in the wild, you can evolve it into Golisopod. The ultimate prize for Pokémon collectors is coming across a shiny form of a Pokémon. We can confirm that after Wimpod's first debut and during the Pokémon TCG Crossover event, you will not be able to catch a shiny version of this Pokémon. It can't be found in the wild, as a Field Research reward, or after completing a Wimpod raid. Every Pokémon Niantic added to the game will be released to the public for a limited period before moving on to the next event. A Pokémon's shiny variant is usually given to it a year or two after it is released.

Depending on the events Niantic fits into their calendar, we can expect Wimpo and Golisopod's glossy version to come around 2023 or 2024. We don't know a precise timeline, since each Pokémon is unique. Legendary Pokémon in the mobile game is released on a more regular basis, usually less than a year later, giving everyone a chance to catch them in five-star raids. Wimpod might have to wait a little longer for a glossy version.

Despite the fact that Golisopod isn't one of the best Bug-type Pokémon in the game for PvP, we advocate utilizing it in raids and as a PvP Pokémon.
