Many of the jobs you'll get in The Cycle: Frontier will need you to locate a resource and return it to base. There are, however, a variety of resources and a few different types of each that can throw you off. This tutorial will show you how to obtain nickel in The Cycle: Frontier so that you don't get stuck on a job because you're looking at the wrong rocks.

Where to find nickel

Nickel is a plentiful resource, but it isn't easy to get by. Instead, you'll need to utilize a mineral scanner to find any nearby rocks that might have it. As you can see in the image above, these will appear as blue rings surrounding you. When you get close enough to the blue circles, you'll see a small mound of rocks. This is where you'll need to grab your pickaxe and start smashing rocks to disclose the minerals beneath. With any luck, you'll come across some rocks with pointed green crystals on one side and grey on the other. This is nickel, and you should pick it up and keep it safe in your pockets.

However, this isn't the only type of nickel available. There's also altered nickel, which is a green rock that can also be found in grey rock piles. If you have a job that requires a specific mineral or resource, you must obtain that mineral or resource. If a group specifically requests nickel, for example, altered nickel or other types of nickel will not be accepted. Pay attention to the job descriptions to be sure you're bringing the right mineral home. You're wasting your time if you don't. This will be made even worse if you are slain while attempting to obtain that coin.
